Description

An established charity based near Dartford in Kent is seeking an experienced Finance Officer to support the Director of Finance in managing financial operations, including financial reporting, payroll, and compliance. This is a newly created vacancy with the opportunity to progress within the organisation and further your career.  Please note this role is office-based.


Responsibilities of the Finance Officer Role:-


  • Supervise and support an Accounts Assistant in day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliations, ensuring the timely collection of income and accurate recording of financial transactions.
  • Reconciling bank accounts, payroll accounts, and control accounts monthly.
  • Update and track Housing Benefit income
  • Oversee the processing and administration of monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with tax, pension, and employment regulations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll submissions, including PAYE, National Insurance, pension contributions, and other deductions. -
  • Manage expense reimbursements and ensure compliance with company policies.

Requirements of the Finance Officer Role:-


  • Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
  • Experience working for a charity, non-profit, or an SME business
  • First-rate knowledge of the Sage Line 50 Accounting system
  • Payroll administration
