Are you an experienced finance professional looking to take ownership of a high-impact role within a growing, dynamic financial services SME? Our client is seeking a Financial Controller to lead our finance function, drive robust financial management, and support our next phase of growth.
The Role
Reporting to the CEO and working with colleagues globally, the Financial Controller will play a pivotal role in ensuring strong financial governance, accurate reporting, and strategic insight across the business. You will oversee the day-to-day finance operations while working closely with senior leadership to guide financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a small finance team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Prepare monthly management accounts, forecasts, and variance analyses.

Oversee budgeting and long-term financial planning processes.

Ensure compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements relevant to financial services.

Manage cashflow, working capital, and financial controls.

Maintain and improve internal processes, systems, and financial policies.

Support strategic initiatives, including pricing, profitability analysis, and business cases.

Liaise with external auditors, banks, and regulatory bodies as needed.
About You
This role will suit someone who is proactive, commercially minded, and confident operating in a fast-paced SME environment.
Essential:

Fully qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA / CIMA or equivalent).

Experience in the financial services sector.

Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements.

Hands-on approach with the ability to work both strategically and operationally.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
