A multi-site organisation with offices in South-East London is looking to hire an ambitious ACA/ACCA/CIMA Qualified Head of Finance to join them on a permanent basis. This role is office-based and has the potential to offer career progression in the medium/long term. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and supervising a large finance team, the Head of Finance will:
Duties of the Head of Finance Role:
- Work as part of the senior team to deliver the smooth day-to-day running of the business with specific responsibility for all aspects of Finance Department.
- Directing, leading, and developing a strong finance team to drive and deliver the business and organisational agenda; and, in conjunction with the people team, ensure day-to-day operations have sufficient competent and committed people, and the organisational capability, to deliver the support service – now and in the future.
- Ensure that all staff throughout the department are fully engaged in attaining the necessary qualification/training to perform their duties effectively.
- Manage and monitor business administration performance, ensuring that good performance is embedded and replicated and that intervention strategies and plans are developed to achieve improvement if necessary.
- Ensure effective delivery of all finance and admin systems and procedures, and effective engagement of staff in all areas of the business.
- Maintain control of all financial transactions by ensuring that all financial processes are completed in a timely fashion so to highlight any discrepancies at an early stage including income reconciliation, bank reconciliation, active control and management of balance sheet accounts, active management of the debtors list, credit control and management of the purchase ledger and support the delivery of the payroll service.
- Lead and support the Head of Management Accounting to ensure effective management information is captured and reported as the basis of good and informed business decisions.
- Utilise effective quality and information systems to ensure that all aspects of day-to-day administration performance are carried out efficiently and economically.
Requirements of the Head of Finance Role:
- ACA/CIMA/ACCA Qualified Accountant
- Proven team management experience leading teams of more than 10 people
- Experience with complex tax returns
- Advanced IT Skills - office products and system administration
- Strong experience in financial control - AP, AR, Bank and Income Reconciliation
- Good knowledge of management accounting
- It would be beneficial if you have worked in a multi-site business previously
