Description
A Finance Business Partner is sought by this forward looking organisation with more than 200 years' experience of providing services to the wider community across the UK. The Financial Business Partner will play a pivotal role in driving a new Strategic Plan by working alongside the Finance Director and operational Senior Leadership Teams.
 
The Finance Business Partner will ensure the production of timely, high quality management accounts, insightful commentary and any other information; Review the financial performance and risks and opportunities of the regions on a monthly basis for review by the Finance Director; Lead the annual budget setting and three year planning process - periodically reforecasting expected financial performance against those plans; Design and deliver analysis, using their advanced MS Excel skills and MI system knowledge, to drive improved understanding of profitability and provide relevant insight and analysis to improve strategic and operational decision making; Lead the commercial aspects of business development projects – providing a review and challenge function to operational and business development leads to ensure the commercial strategy developed for each business development opportunity is appropriate and aligned to the organisation’s wider strategy; Critically reviewing contractual and other legal documentation to identify key organisational risks and issues and driving the development of risk mitigation strategies; Supervising direct reports within the immediate business partnering team, and mentoring others within the wider finance function.
 
You will be CIMA/CPA/ACCA or ACA Qualified (or overseas equivalent) possess strong MS Excel and IT Finance Systems experience. Be experienced in a devolved budget setting environment across multiple sites; Have sound commercial awareness with a proven ability to provide value and insight leading to financial performance improvement; Proven experience of operating within a similar business facing role in a commercial environment; Experienced in leading the commercial development of new business proposals (bids, funding applications, acquisitions, etc.). Have the ability to lead, manage, motivate and develop a team. Previous experience in the evaluation of potential mergers and acquisitions is desirable but not essential.
